The metamorphosis

When everything’s going well, it’s easy to conduct yourself with confidence. To sail through life smiling as the world turns in a sea of tumult around you. To turn up and do your best day in and day out is always the aim, and it’s much easier when everything goes right.

What about when it’s not though.

What about when you’ve had broken sleep for 10, 20, 30 nights on the bounce, the car has broken down and you’re short staffed?

What about when that straight forward thing suddenly becomes a not so straight forward thing, just like that other thing before it and the one before that? And we all know this always all happens on the same day of course.

Anyone can be amazing when everything’s going their way.

When the world seems to have turned it’s back on you and things don’t go to plan, how will you respond? Are you going to curl up into a ball, or are you going to stand up to the challenge?

“Allah gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers”

Similar phrases can be found in many religions.

It’s always easy when things are going well. The true measure of a person is how they cope when things go badly.

When you go to bed, curled tightly in your cocoon from the latest bombardment of life, allow yourself to grieve for that moment. Then breathe and reflect. A frank and honest reflection, an opportunity to learn and grow and live a stronger life for the experience.

With every challenge brings a new opportunity and a chance to grow into something bigger and more beautiful than before.
